In silence, we can hold everything.
Have you ever noticed what happens to your body when you resist the urge to speak? The moment we try to explain something, its aliveness begins to fade. It becomes fixed, like an aging machine in need of oil. Have you ever felt the need to keep talking, as if only endless words could do justice to what lives in your heart? Because once you begin, no words ever seem enough to express the very thing you long for someone else to hear.
At some point, you stop. No matter how much you say, language will always fall short– and a subtle void appears. You realize that the only one who can truly hear you is yourself. And you understand that to truly listen is to allow yourself to feel it—to be present with it. Without any words, without any movement in total stillness.
Only when we stop naming the thing will we know we are living it.
When I was 15, I searched for a word to describe this thing I felt inside. Over the years, every attempt to define it has led me to new understandings. At first, I thought Zalio was a feeling, but I soon realized it wasn't. Zalio is an action—it’s the moment we say yes to feeling everything. This action finds its truest form through presence. Words are a funny thing—they’re important to connect with one another. When spoken from the heart they become alive. And we must not forget the silence to allow ourselves to truly experience the thing, fully.
So why try to name what cannot be named? What is the point of writing an about page? Where am I going with this? We came here to experience all of it. As this too is part of the process of being alive. This is an invitation to explore human truths with curiosity, a space where we meet ourselves again and again. Zalio is born as a way to journey into the heart.
